Membership and Donations

Become a member of the Association or support its work with a donation.

The financial strength of the SEMFE Alumni Association rests on the donations and contributions of its members. Donations and contributions cover the Association's running costs as well as the costs of organising one-day conferences, events and meetings each year. For more information, contact us.

Thank you for your trust. For our part, we work every day to present our common starting point, SEMFE, and our members in the best possible way.

Two ways to support us

Joining

Become a member

To become a member of the SEMFE Alumni Association and get access to the members-only area of our website, all of the following must be true:

  1. You are a graduate or final-year student of SEMFE NTUA

You must be a graduate or final-year student of the undergraduate programme of SEMFE NTUA, and we must be able to confirm this in some way. (The easiest way for us to do so is an up-to-date LinkedIn profile, as the application explains.) If you are a SEMFE faculty member, contact us from your Gmail address and we will give you access too.

  2. You fill in the membership application

Fill in your details on the online form.

  3. You pay the €10 membership fee

You must have paid the sum of €10 into the Association's account, which is managed by the Treasurer, Konstantinos Stouras (see “Payment” below). In the “reference” field, please write your full name, your email and the year of the fee you are paying.

We will check your details promptly and send you an e-mail confirming that your membership of the Association is active.

Renewing your annual membership fee

Registered members renew their membership every year, again with the sum of €10. You can renew either online, with a payment into the Association's account (see “Payment” below), or in person at an event, one-day conference or assembly of the Association.

Transparency in the Association's transactions and expenses

We keep full transparency over the Association's income and expenses, and over the payments from members' fees and donations. Any member who wishes can learn how the Association's financial transactions and expenses are managed. Financial reports.

Donations

Support the Association

Anyone who is inspired by the aims and work of the SEMFE Alumni Association, as described in its Statute (PDF, in Greek), whether or not they are a graduate, can give any amount they wish to support its running.

Payments can be made into the Association's account (see “Payment”) with the reference “donation”. If you include your full name and email with your payment, the Association will send you a letter of thanks.

Members' benefits

Under the Statute, members of the Association:

  • Join an ever-growing “network of SEMFE graduates” of people with top professional experience or high-level research and academic careers. Our members are in regular contact, discussing job opportunities and studies, and sharing advice in general.
  • Give employers, SEMFE graduates and HR professionals the chance to look at their profile for employment, strictly if, and only if, the graduate has chosen to allow this.
  • Take part in themed workshops and briefings on the job market.
  • If they wish, receive a newsletter with the latest news of the SEMFE Alumni Association.
  • If they wish, receive (exclusive) announcements of job and internship opportunities in Greece and abroad for SEMFE graduates. Many of these announcements are confidential and are made only to our members after personal contact. So you will not find them on any other website (e.g. LinkedIn, kariera.gr, etc.).

In addition, under the Statute, members of the Association have the right:

  • To vote
  • To stand for election to the Board and the Audit Committee
  • To speak and vote at General Assemblies
